Medical Metal Finishing & Polishing

FMI Medical possesses comprehensive, in-house metal finishing & processing capabilities.  In most cases, your parts will be completed without ever leaving our facility.

Our experienced medical manufacturing personnel are trained in precision welding, sanding, buffing, heat treat, ultra-sonic cleaning, electro-polish, passivation and assembly.

FMI can provide various medical “Satin” finishes, Electro polish finish, and Glass Bead finish (including most media types like #10 & #16 or fine, medium & coarse.)

Medical Metal Cleaning & Processing

FMI has a 9-station, self-contained unit for cleaning, passivation and electro polish as well as a 75-watt Nd:Yag, High Speed, Class I Laser Marking system. HBS Corp custom engineered & built the Mark IV Manual Clean/Passivate/Electro polish system that contains Ultra Sonic Cleaning (utilizing Crest Equipment), Ultra Sonic Rinse, Citric passivate and Electro polish.

  • Lucifer Heat Treat Oven (capable of obtaining heat treatments to 2,200 degrees, envelope 12”x14”x24”)
  • Grieve Curing Oven (temp range 0-450deg F, 18.0" High x 32.0" Wide x 24" Deep)
  • HBS Mark IV Manual Ultra-Sonic Clean/Passivate/Electro Polish system with a working bin size of 19” x 25” x 20”.
  • CSI High-Speed InstaMark “Signature” 75-watt Nd:Yag Laser Marking System with 4-Axis rotary indexing table and Class I Enclosure.
