Our HistoryFMI was founded in 1999 by Jasalyn Falciani and Chad Falciani. Their continuing vision for the Company is to provide innovative solutions to the most demanding medical device manufacturing challenges. This vision is achieved by using the best available technology and employing machining methodologies unmatched by competitors. FMI is a certified woman-owned business. Chad Falciani - PresidentChad Falciani received an Associates Degree of Machine Tool Technology and CNC Control at Wallace State in Hanceville, AL. While at Wallace State, Chad served as President of VICA and placed high in regional machine tool competitions. After his graduation, Chad was voted “Most Successful Graduate in the Machine Tool Industry” in 2000 and continues to be involved in the Machine Tool Technology program. Prior to beginning FMI, Chad served as a Manufacturing Applications Engineer for CAMcad Technologies. While at CAMcad, Chad supported the southeastern United States, providing technical training and support for SURFCAM, the multi-axis CAD/CAM programming software from Surfware, Inc. SURFCAM is also used at FMI to control our multi-axis CNC machines. Chad Falciani is well known and recognized in the local metal cutting industry and CNC programming community. He previously served four years as an instructor in the field of CNC programming at J.F. Drake Technical College, and provided additional instruction at Teledyne Brown Engineering and the US Army Missile Command in Huntsville, Alabama. Chad is the director for Drake’s Craft Committee for the machine tool program. Robert Denny - Chief Operating OfficerPrior to joining FMI, Mr. Denny served as CEO of Unique Instruments, Inc., a leading provider of surgical instruments, implants and supply chain solutions to the orthopedic industry. Mr. Denny's previous experience also includes roles as Vice President of Finance for M.A. HannaColor, a $250+ million provider of specialty chemicals and colorants; Vice President of Finance and Administration for Hudson Specialty Foods, a $250+ million provider of portion controlled entrées; and several operational finance positions with Philip Morris-Kraft General Foods divisions. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is also certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) by APICS, the Association for Operations Management). Clarence Odom - Quality ManagerPrior to joining FMI, Mr. Odom served as Manager of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for 3D Machining, Inc., a leading provider of surgical instruments to the orthopedic industry. Mr. Odom's previous experience also includes roles as General Manager for Nipro Diabetes Systems, Inc.; Manager of Quality Assurance for Medtronic MiniMed division; Senior Engineer/Notified Body Auditor for TUV Essen and US Army Nuclear Weapons Specialist. Mr. Odom's educational background includes studies in mechanical engineering at Canada College, and US Army Nuclear Weapons School. Bill Voss - Operations ManagerBill Voss was the first employee hired by FMI, and has played a leading role in every aspect of company operations. He has completed Perry Johnson training as a lead auditor for ISO9001:2000 and AS9100:2004. He has over twelve years of machining experience in precision machining environments.
